ABOUT R-ATENCIO:

At first, drawing or painting was only a sporadic activity as I worked to support myself and my family. In time, I realized that I really loved art as self expression. I took workshops in watercolor, drawing, mosaics and hand-building clay. I finally stepped fully into the water when I majored in art at university and graduated with a BA in Fine Art.

College gave me the experience of creating art around a deadline and also the opportunity to try different media. I found the most expressive satisfaction in pastel, charcoal, acrylic, woodcut printing, clay and plaster. However, I'm always open to trying a new medium or applying medium in a different and experimental way.
